Aliso Viejo, CA, August 13, 2010 — MERIT Property Management, a leading provider of professional community association and rental management services, announces that Community Managers Andy Larkin and Christina Rodrigues were presented with Vision Awards by the California Association of Community Managers (CACM). Larkin was recognized in the Physical Management category and Rodrigues was recognized in the Creative Solutions for Problem Solving category, which combined saved over $480,000 for the community associations they manage.
Larkin received the "Physical Management, Level II" (301 or more units) award for his work renegotiating vendor contracts and increasing overall efficiencies for the 404 unit condominium community he manages in Southern California. His work resulted in savings excess of $118,000 for the association.
Rodrigues received the "Creative Solutions for Problem Solving, Level I" (301 or more units) award for her work completing a major landscape renovation and tree replacement for over 20-acres of land in a 60 single family home community she manages in Southern California. Utilizing creativity and persistence she was able to complete the project in seven months as opposed to the five year projected timeline and bring the total cost of the project from $500,000 to $137,000, a realized net savings of $363,000 to the association.
